In this stunning bridge book between Cress and Winter in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana’s story is finally told.

Mirror, mirror on the wall,

Who is the fairest of them all?

Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now.

Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from Winter, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.
My Thoughts

Among Meyer's characters, Levana is definelty the most complex one. I could easily describe the evil queen as a psycho, but that just isn't enough to describe her.

When it comes to villains, I can deal with evil. I'm not sure I was ready for mental illness, genius move, everybody. We're given free pass to Levana's head and trust me, it's not a comfortable place to be. She's insecure, pitiful, broken and completely alone.  The thing about it is her sister (Channary) was the most evil of all, but she sported a prettier face.Without her i truly believe Levana would have been a lesser evil. I got the feeling though that the whole family suffers from some sort of social disorder.
Overall I think it was a chillingly good read. I recommend this book if you are a fan of The Lunar Chronicles Series.

My Rating

About The Author

She lives in Tacoma, Washington, with her fiancé and two cats. In addition to her slight obsession with books and writing, she's big on road-tripping, wine- tasting and hunting for antiques. She is represented by Jill Grinberg.
Cinder, her debut novel, is a futuristic revisiting of Cinderella in which Cinder is a cyborg mechanic.
