Madeline Whittier is allergic to the outside world. So allergic, in fact, that she has never left the house in all of her seventeen years. But when Olly moves in next door, and wants to talk to Maddie, tiny holes start to appear in the protective bubble her mother has built around her. Olly writes his IM address on a piece of paper, shows it at her window, and suddenly, a door opens. But does Maddie dare to step outside her comfort zone?

My Thoughts
This book is the debut of Nicola's first novel. I think she did a fantastic job on it. There are lots of really creative, believable and crazy moments that occur in this story. Nicola weaves the tale so well you get surprised at what happens in the end.
Madeline is just a teen that, like any normal teen, wants to go out have friends and experience life. But her problem is that she has this immune disorder that makes her allergic to EVERYTHING. Because of this her mother makes it her mission to protect her daughter from everything.  She is written in such a way you can feel this girls pain. I mean if you haven't ever interacted with anyone, but your mother and doctors, you would feel trapped at some point too. When she meets Olly thats when things quickly escalate some how they make a connection.
The pace of this book is just right that it keeps you wanting to read into the night. It has just enough action and dialogue to keep your interest peaked.
Description of the characters are also good. Nicola did a great job helping make a mental picture of the characters.

Overall this was a good read it was just really short. I would have like it to be just a bit longer. Although it being short makes it great for summer reading!
